You'll see lacquer furniture and furniture by Chinese scholars from the Han dynasty to the early Qing dynasty, from the 2nd BC to the 17th century AD, juxtaposed with early Khmer sculptures from the 7th to 13th centuries and international contemporary art by Zeng Fanzhi, Nobuyoshi Araki, Anish Kapoor, James Lee Byars, Cristina Iglesias and Adam Fuss. Located in a former World War II telecommunications bunker renovated by British architect John Pawson, the institution encourages a conversation between different eras and cultures and offers a new perception of ancient art.
