The Leaning Tower: rules and regulations
The visit lasts approximately 30 minutes, no extension is permitted.
Children under the age of 8 will not be admitted under any circumstances.
Children between the ages of 8 and 12 must be accompanied by a responsible adult and held by the hand at all times.
Children aged 12 to 18 are allowed on the Tower only if accompanied by a responsible adult.
The visit to the Tower requires considerable physical effort. Please note that the spiral staircase has approximately 300 steps. Persons with heart conditions or those suffering from compromised health conditions are strongly advised not to visit the Tower.
In case of a long queue, if you cannot visit the interior of the Cathedral, you will be offered a guided tour of Piazza dei Cavalieri.
It is mandatory to show up at the meeting point at the indicated check-in time. In case of delay it will not be possible to participate in the tour, nor to obtain a refund or reschedule the tour.

Meeting point

The tour departs at 1.30pm from Piazzale Montelungo.
 
How to reach the meeting point from the Santa Maria Novella station square: Take "Via Valfonda" and continue straight at the end of the road, until you see the Fortezza da Basso. Cross the road in front of you and keep left until you see Piazzale Montelungo on the right (large square with parking for cars and buses). Reach the meeting point 15 minutes early. An assistant will be waiting for you wearing blue clothes with the CAF Tour - Gray Line logo.
