Description

Hampton Court Palace is the tale of two palaces: a Tudor palace magnificently developed by Cardinal Wolsey and later Henry VIII, alongside a Baroque palace built by William III and Mary II.

Tudor Palace and Henry VIII
Henry VIII had more than 60 houses, but none were more important to him, nor more sumptuously decorated, than Hampton Court Palace. Today you can tour Henry's apartments, see his stunning imperial crown recreated in the royal pew before sneaking under the stairs to visit his vast Tudor kitchens where 200 cooks, sergeants, grooms and pages worked to produce over 800 meals a day for the hungry family.

Baroque Palace and William and Mary
The splendid apartments of William and Mary, who ruled jointly at the end of the 17th century, are a beautiful and elegant testimony to the decadent Baroque period. They offer extraordinary views of the magnificent gardens.

The magical garden
Discover a self-contained, enclosed family garden, with every feature designed to be climbed, including a jousting arena, tilting towers and a fire-breathing dragon. An outdoor delight for children and families who introduce history through play while interacting with nature.

There is much more to see such as the Georgian Apartments, Andrea Mantegna's Triumphs of Caesar and our costumed interpreters
