The aquarium's journey takes guests from the local waters of the Loreley Rock and Lake Constance to the North Sea , through the exotic Amazon , and finally to the tropical ocean. In over 40 lifelike aquariums , each stop offers close encounters with spectacular marine creatures. The evocative glass tunnel passes through the aquarium's largest tank, where the green sea turtle "Marty" swims alongside two majestic nurse sharks, offering a truly unforgettable experience.
In addition to the rich fauna of the local waters and the North Sea , guests can be enchanted by a splendid, ever-growing coral reef, populated by hundreds of colourful tropical fish, including the much-loved clownfish.
SEA LIFE Speyer is also strongly committed to protecting endangered species and their natural habitats. In the outdoor area, visitors can observe the European pond turtle "Emys," a native German species now threatened with extinction and the focus of the "Breed, Rescue, Protect" project. SEA LIFE aquarists care for these specimens until they are reintroduced into local waters.
Among the most engaging moments of the visit are the spectacular daily feedings: what do sharks eat? What's the favorite food of stingrays? During these events, aquarists share curiosities, anecdotes, and interesting information about the marine world, making every visit an educational, exciting, and unforgettable experience for the whole family.
