Highlights

A day to discover two symbolic places of France in complete autonomy .
Accompanied by audio commentary on our app, you'll stroll through Claude Monet's splendid gardens in Giverny. You'll also discover the home and studio of this master of Impressionism. You'll visit the Palace of Versailles, France's principal royal residence, listening to fascinating commentary on its history.

Take a seat aboard a comfortable, air-conditioned tour bus. You'll be taken to the Fondation Claude Monet, where you can tour the Giverny garden and Monet's house at your leisure. Explore Giverny at your own pace , starting with Monet's house . Here, you'll learn about the life of the artist, who lived there until his death at the age of 43. You'll admire the reading room, also known as the " blue room ," the sunflower-yellow dining room decorated with Japanese prints, and the private apartments. Continue your visit to Monet's studio , now a souvenir shop. Afterwards, activate the audio guide to listen to the commentary as you visit Monet's garden .
Stroll along the flower-lined paths that inspired the artist's Impressionist paintings. Be enchanted by the lush, multicolored flowerbeds. Enter the Clos-Normand , home to numerous Far Eastern plants and vegetation .
Cross the water garden on the Japanese bridge. Look over the edge to admire the famous water lilies , featured in the celebrated painting of the same name.

Take your time to immerse yourself in Monet's universe in an exotic and ethereal atmosphere.

After that, board your bus.
It will take you to the Moulin de Fourges or the Bistrot du Moulin restaurant, 10 minutes from Giverny, where you will be served a lunch of traditional Norman dishes.

Menu (subject to change):

  • Fish terrine, sour cream and mixed salad.
  • Roast chicken breast, cream of mushroom soup, and mashed potatoes with salted butter.

You will enter seven rooms, each decorated in the style of a deity. Next, you will enter the magnificent Hall of Mirrors , where guests were invited during celebrations. The room overlooks the gardens of Versailles . Admire the emblem of the Sun King, Louis XIV, one of the most ornate symbols of 17th-century French art. If it is not the season when the Musical Fountains and Musical Gardens shows are held, you can take the time to explore the gardens , where statues, sculptures, fountains, flowerbeds, groves, and ponds harmoniously follow one another. During the reign of Louis XIV, André le Nôtre designed the gardens of the Palace , giving them unique and grandiose proportions.
