Xochimilco, Coyoacan & Frida Kahlo Museum

Discover the iconic world of Frida Kahlo , the picturesque neighborhood of Coyoacán , the vibrant canals of Xochimilco , and the impressive murals of the UNAM on this colorful cultural tour!

Our first stop will be Coyoacán, whose name in Nahuatl means "place of coyotes." Here, our local guide will give you a brief explanation of the origins and importance of this neighborhood and its surroundings. You'll also have free time to wander its streets and, if you wish, enjoy a light breakfast (own expense).

Next, depending on the option selected, you will visit the Frida Kahlo Museum (Casa Azul) or the Kahlo House (Casa Roja) .

At Casa Azul you will explore Frida's former home , where she was born and died, discovering the profound connection between her life, her works and the spaces she loved.

At Casa Kahlo , however, you will experience a modern and immersive interpretation of Frida's world through sensory rooms and contemporary narratives that celebrate her legacy from an innovative perspective.

The tour will then continue to the University City , where your local guide will reveal the significance of the extraordinary murals in the Rectorate and Central Library, located on the main campus of the National University. With over 110 murals of varying sizes and styles, this open-air gallery will amaze you with its unique way of telling the story of Mexico.

The final stop will be one of Frida Kahlo's favorite places: Xochimilco . Here, you'll discover the area's pre-Hispanic origins and enjoy a relaxing ride aboard a traditional trajinera (traditional boat). If you've selected the lunch option, you'll also enjoy a Mexican meal at a local restaurant before the boat ride.

Afterward, enjoy some free time to explore the craft market or sample other local specialties from local vendors.
