The Everglades is a unique wetland ecosystem in South Florida, with 5,000 square miles of slow-flowing water supporting grasslands, dense forests, and diverse groups of animal life. Marine life includes alligators, American crocodiles, soft shell turtles and fish such as red shovel, smallmouth bass, redfish and catfish.
