Visit to the Velabro Valley
A small part of the city that hides an incredible concentration of beauty, history and myth, lived for many years in the shadow of the renowned Bocca della Verità. We will discover many local traditions and some sayings still in use today; auspicious formulas that the most daring can also try to invoke to challenge fate. Churches, arches and ancient temples await us to reveal their precious stories and their timeless secrets. Starting from Piazza Bocca della Verità, we will begin our journey from the legendary mask, which was once a wellhead, and we will discover together why it is still so feared today. We will continue to discover the large four-faced arch known as the Arch of Janus, which will introduce us to the thousand-year-old church of San Giorgio in Velabro, next to which the highly decorated Arco degli Argentari will reveal its mysteries to us. We will walk along Via di San Giovanni Decollato and its church, until we reach Piazza della Consolazione, where the Tarpeian Rock awaits us.
Our tour will continue towards the sacred area of S.Omobono (where we will discover a particularly used but vulgar saying!), and then move towards the Church of San Nicola in Carcere, whose structure is imprisoned among the ruins of three different Roman temples . Here, our tour will end where it began, coming full circle in Piazza Bocca della Verità, to observe the Forum Olitorio and the Forum Boarium, with their temples incredibly preserved to this day.

Please note that the time slot selected when booking corresponds to the start time of the Velabrum Valley Walking Tour, which operates on Saturdays and Sundays only, at 9:00, 11:00, 17:00 and 19:00.
From April to October The tourist bus runs every day from 8.30am to 6.45pm (first bus from Largo Peretti, last bus at 6.45pm from Termini). Buses leave every 15/20 minutes from Termini Station (Stop 1).
From November 2023 to 14 March 2024 the Hop on Hop off bus operates every day from 8.30am to 5.45pm (First bus from Largo Peretti, Last bus 5.45pm from Termini). Buses leave every 15/20 minutes from Termini Station (Stop 1).
From 15 March 2024 to 31 March 2024 the Hop on Hop off bus operates every day from 8.30am to 6.45pm (First bus from Largo Peretti, Last bus 6.45am from Termini). Buses leave every 15/20 minutes from Termini Station (Stop 1)
