You will start at the famous Versailles restaurant, partly decorated by the uncle of the Cuban-American rapper Pitbull, where you will eat like a Cuban for the first time on this tour. After the good sandwich special there, you'll learn how Little Havana became America's home for Cubans, and if you want, visit the Bay of Pigs Museum for more information about it.
Next, you'll enter the small Latin Art Core Gallery that pioneered the display of art by both emerging and established Cubans and Latinos.
After the arty look, you'll sip a cup of Cuban coffee at the inventive La Colada Gourmet coffeeshop. The tour will also show you places on Calle Ocho (8th Street) to get the real deal of Cuban staples like mojitos, sugar cane juice, puff pastry, and others.
Just next door, see the historic MDC's Tower Theater where Cubans allegedly learned English in the 1950s and 60s. From there, you will walk to Domino Park to witness the common pastime enjoyed by older Cubans who avidly play dominoes.
Finally, immerse yourself in live salsa or jazz tunes at the iconic Ball & Chain bar, where Billie Holiday and Chet Baker regularly performed.
