Vesuvius is one of the most studied and known volcanoes in the world. Symbol of Naples with its unique shape, it has a typical frusto-conical shape, with its highest peak reaching 1277 meters. The crater currently has a diameter of 450 meters and a depth of 300 meters. The eruption of Vesuvius in 79 AD destroyed the Roman cities of Pompeii, Herculaneum, Oplontis and Stabiae, as well as numerous other settlements.
Pickup at the hotel/port/station in Naples around 9.30 am and transfer to the motorway directly to Torre del Greco, where we will begin our climb crossing the Vesuvius National Park up to 1000 meters.
From the car park you can access the path that leads to the top of the only still active volcano in continental Europe.
Two hours available to reach and travel the crater at 1200 meters above sea level and admire the enchanting bay of Naples from east to west. Return to the car park at the time established by the driver and return to Naples with drop-off at the hotel around 1pm.
