Attractions

Animals, shows and much more:You will be able to observe all our animals very closely and interact with some of them during educational demonstrations and the interactive workshops that the park offers. Nowadays the zoo is no longer just the place where animals can be observed, in some cases even very rare, but it assumes extreme importance in the dissemination of information on issues related to the conservation of biodiversity and strategies to protect the environment.
ZooEDUCATION an educational project, aimed at adults and children, which plays a fundamental role in the life of the park. With the collaboration of our animal friends, thanks to the educational staff it will be possible, with a completely new language based on learning by doing, to enter more deeply into the fantastic world of nature. For this reason, the park offers an educational program aimed at both the school world and visitors who come to our reality every day.

EVERY DAY AT THE ZOO

A small zoo for a large animal:The Asian elephant the second terrestrial mammal by size. While the most abundant African elephant often on the media due to the killings perpetrated by the poachers, little or nothing is told about the conservation status of the Asian elephant in its different subspecies.

Discovering marine mammals: The educational training session with our pinnipeds enables our visitors to get to know these beautiful animals more closely and understand, by observing them directly, the techniques used by the park trainers to communicate with the animals. The morphological characteristics and the differences that characterize seals and sea lions, the biology, ecology, distributional distribution and then again the communication between animal and trainer and the veterinary approach are just some of the topics addressed to allow visitors to approach the world of these animals. You can watch them every day during the training session.

Feeding white rhino:The southern white rhino among the most endangered animals. In nature there are only about 1000 specimens. His northern cousin, close to extinction: there are only 5 specimens left in the world. In a daily session offeeding, you will be able to meet the park staff who will provide you with some information on the biology of rhinos, their management in zoos and their conservation status in the wild.

Giraffe Feeding: The Giraffe is certainly one of the symbols of the African continent. In nature a timid animal, difficult to approach, which spends most of its time grazing on the tall trees of the savannah. Sometimes, to graze the low grass, it takes on curious positions, exaggeratingly enlarging its front legs. The giraffes are greedy for acacia, oak and carrot leaves: during the feeding session you can feed them directly from your hands and look into the eyes of the highest animal in the world! Within this educational moment you can also get to know the biology, behavior and conservation status of this elegant animal. Our staff will be happy to answer all your questions.

For schools and groups: educational workshops
THE ZOO IN A HAND: Wild animals have always aroused interest and fascination in the human soul. These, too often, do not receive the right treatment in relation to their species of belonging, a condition that inevitably undermines their condition of well-being. For this reason, the Lo Zoo laboratory in one hand aims to raise awareness of the world of animals from an early age. Thanks to our animal friends we will have the chance to approach the Animal Kingdom in a whole new way. The protagonists of this adventure will be snakes, birds of prey, giraffes, rabbits and turtles.

THE ENCHANTED FOREST:Always the forest, the soul of fairy tales, myths and legends. it is important to learn to love it in order to preserve it so large and strong with its trees and animals, and so many centuries of history behind it, but also so fragile as to be more and more in danger. This love must pass from the knowledge and experience lived, from the discovery of the forms of life that inhabit it. Through the use of cards, artifacts and biological samples, live animals, under a forest of olive trees and ancient oaks, the aim is to let children live an experience, which, in the role of nature investigators, will discover the fantastic world of the forest.

GUIDED TOUR: Our educators will be able to adapt the language and the themes treated on the basis of the group's allet, because they learn by having better fun! Furthermore, the aim is to make visitors aware of the threats that biodiversity, and in particular some species of large mammals, run due to the transformation of habitats and the increase of the human population on a planetary level. Man has already extinguished many forms of life in ancient times. These were large mammals and birds used as food or considered dangerous, or island species that did not know man. During the journey inside the park it is evident that man has already caused the genetic erosion of many populations of large mammals, with particular emphasis on the Asian elephant Elephas maximus and the white rhinoceros Ceratotherium simum. This is also an Italian problem; before the pinnipeds sector of the Zoo there is almost complete extinction of the monk seal of the Mediterranean Monachus monachus and to the timid attempts of recolonization in progress along the Italian coasts. With this guided tour, through the knowledge of the characteristics of some species, the aim is to create an informed awareness of biodiversity protection and conservation.
